Michael Hefele is a German center-back who was born on 1 September 1990 in Pfaffenhofen.
Michael started his football grooming with the hometown club ST Scheyern. In 1999 Hefele joined FC Ingolstadt, where he scrambled through all the youth levels of the club. In 2006 the footballer switched to FC Augsburg. At the age of 18 Michael moved to the Unterhaching youth system quickly becoming a regular fixture in the second team, where he earned 43 appearances and scored 5 goals.
Hefele was considered to be a talented player. He debuted for the second team in opening round in the 1-0 victory over FC Ismaning spending all 90 minutes on the pitch. His first senior goal came on 29 November 2009 in a home match versus FC Memmingen which ended in a 2-0 win. By the end of the season the footballer had netted 3 goals in 33 matches and made it to the 3rd place in the championship with the team.
Thanks to his bright performance, on 31 August 2010 Michael penned his first professional contract with the club. The deal had a term of two years and a mutual option. Hefele’s professional league debut came on 21 August 2010 in a 3-1 win over Rot-Weiss Erfurt when he also received a yellow card.
For the whole season 2010/11 Michael fired 1 goal in 7 matches for the reserve team and earned 28 appearances for the first squad without scoring a goal. On 4 June 2012 SpVgg Greuther Fürth welcomed the center-back into the fold signing a 1-year contract with him.
