Michael Schulze was born on 13 January 1989 in Göttingen.
Starting his football grooming at SSV Vorsfelde, Schulze devoted much time and efforts to the club. No wonder it became dear to him, and a young player didn’t want to leave SSV Vorsfelde for a long time, persistently baulking at more serious offers. Nevertheless, in 2001 when Michael was noticed by VfL Wolfsburg’s ‘scouts’ and finally made up his mind to join a top-level club. With Wolfsburg he performed on different youth levels for 7 years, being transferred to the second squad afterwards. Overall, he played 87 games scoring 6 goals for VfL Wolfsburg II. On the first matchday of the 2011/12 season Schulze was called up to the first team. It was his Bundesliga debut in a 3-0 win over FC Cologne. However, he had to go off the pitch with microtrauma in the 84th minute being substituted with Makoto Hasebe.
In fact, that match was his only possibility to approve himself as Schulze couldn’t play to the full capacity for the rest of the season. Since that time he appeared on the pitch only once, either playing in reserve or warming the bench for the rest of the year. In 2013 Michael had a loan run with Energie Cottbus.
Lacking an appropriate physical training to simultaneously play for the club and internationally, Michael Schulze still has no appearances at the national level, though he has already had some possibilities to join the youth national team.
