Michael Timisela is a defender of Hammarby. He was born on 5 May 1986 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
At the age of 13, the footballer was noticed by Ajax scouts and joined the academy of Amsterdam side club. Timisela performed for various youth teams during four years and managed to get a place in the main team on 19 February 2006, when Ajax encountered RBC Roosendaal. The match ended in a hammering 6-0 victory of Michael’s squad. The defender’s first goal came on 26 February 2006 in the game versus Heracles. All in all, Timisela made four appearances and netted one goal during his first season.
The 2006/2007 season was not very lucrative for the footballer, because he did not manage to come on the pitch. Due to the lack of playing practice and invitations from NEC, Sparta and RKC Waalwijk, Michael decided to leave the club. However, VVV-Venlo beat off the competition of its rivals and secured the defender’s services on a two-year deal.
Timisela’s début for the new club came on 30 September 2006 in the match against Ajax. VVV-Venlo failed to cope with the pressure of the footballer’s previous team and lost 1-6. Michael featured only in three fixtures during his first season due to an injury.
Without Timisela’s help, VVV-Venlo did not manage to retain their place in the Eredivisie and lost to ADO Den Haag in the decisive match for a place in the top division. That was the reason for the head coach to give his place to the successor. After the new club manager came at the helm, Michael returned to the main team, made 24 appearances during the following season and propelled his team to the Eredivisie promotion.
As VVV went down again after the season 2012/2013 Timisela switched to a Swedish side Hammarby.
