Michael Zullo is a player of Utrecht, who can perform both at the position of a left back and a left winger. He was born on 11 September 1988 in Brisbane, Australia.
Michael began to play football in local Brisbane City, from where he moved to Brisbane Strikers. The footballer penned his first professional two-year deal with the club and got a regular place on the left flank of defense, where he made 45 appearances and amassed 11 goals during two seasons.
In 2007, Zullo sealed a deal with A-League side Brisbane Roar. The player took part in five pre-season matches out of six, but got an injury in the game versus Brisbane Strikers, which sentenced him to six weeks without football. That was the only reason Michael failed to take part in all fixtures for the club, because the back became the pivot of the squad and found the net two times in 53 games by the end of his spell.
In 2010, Eredivisie side Utrecht secured Zullo’s services on a three-year deal. The footballer made his début for the new squad on 28 February 2011 in a draw with NEC. Michael featured in 22 matches for Utrecht as of November 2012.
In 2008, the back was invited to the Australia national U-23 team, where he made six appearances and contributed one goal. From 2009, Zullo has been capped nine times for the full national squad.
