Michal Papadopulos is a Czech footballer of Greek descent currently playing as a forward for Zagłębie Lubin in the Polish Ekstraklasa. He was born on 14 April 1985 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia.
Michal was groomed at his home town sides NH Ostrava and Baník Ostrava in between 1992 and 2002. In 2002, he was promoted to the first team of the latter club where he played until 2005. In the 2003/04 season, Papadopulos played at the English giant club Arsenal, however, he featured only in one League Cup match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Since 2006 till 2008, Papadopulos shone in 19 matches for Bayer Leverkusen. In the 2008/09 season, he played in Mladá Boleslav jersey and in between 2009 and 2011, the Czech striker played for the Dutch team SC Heerenveen. In 2011, Papadopulos moved to Russia where he was a player of Zhemchuzhina-Sochi and FC Rostov. In 2012, he signed a contract with Zagłębie Lubin from the Polish Ekstraklasa and plays for the team to date.
Michal Papadopulos was an international for Czech Republic at various youth levels from U15 to U21. Since 2008, he is capped to the senior Czech side.
