Michał Żewłakow is a Polish professional defender born on 22 April 1976 in Warsaw, Poland.
The product of Polonia Warsaw, Michał was promoted to the first team of the club in 1996. In 1998, he made a move to Belgium where Żewłakow joined KSK Beveren and went on with Mouscron. In 2002, he enjoyed even better fortune signing for giant RSC Anderlecht. Żewłakow made his UEFA Champions League debut in Anderlecht’s shirt. Overall, he made a total of 94 league appearances during a four-year stint at the Belgian side. In between 2006 and 2010, the Polish defender played for the Greek heavyweights Olympiakos and spent the 2010/11 season with Turkish side Ankaragücü. In the summer 2011, Żewłakow returned to Poland where he signed powerhouse Legia Warsaw and plays for the club today.
Michał Żewłakow was a regular international for Poland since 1999 till 2011. He was capped as a first-choice left-back for 2002 ad 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2004. All in all, he made 102 appearances for the Poland national team.
