Spanish footballer Miguel Pérez Cuesta, commonly known as Michu, is an attacking midfielder of Swansea City.
His career took off in local Oviedo, which performed in the lower divisions. After that, Michu moved to Celta de Vigo B in 2007 and later was invited to play for the main team, ending the season in Segunda Division.
In the middle of January 2010, the footballer was going to transfer to Sporting de Gijón so that to replace Míchel, which went to Birmingham City, but the deal eventually broke down and Cuesta stayed in Celta.
During his last seasons in Segunda, Michu netted 12 goals for his team. On 8 June 2011, after the midfielder helped his team to clinch 6th place in the league, he fired the only goal of the first play-off match against Granada CF. However, Cuesta missed his penalty in the following round and Celta failed to gain promotion.
On 27 June 2011, after his contract with the club expired, Michu penned a two-year deal with La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
On 20 July 2012, the footballer penned a three-year contract with English side Swansea City and became a top goalscorer of the club.
In the season 2013/2014 Michu was loaned to Napoli.
