Migjen Basha is a Swiss midfielder of Albanian descent who currently represents Torino F.C. He has taken on the number 4 shirt.
Born to Kosovar Albanian parents in Lausanne, Switzerland, Migjen cut his teeth as a youngster with Lausanne in 2004. He switched across the border to Lucca in Italy, where he sealed a contract with local club Lucchese, aged 18. In 2007 Viareggio snapped him up on loan, where the midfielder registered 15 appearances during his temporary spell. In 2008 Basha joined Rimini. He grabbed regular chances to impress and had a total of 50 appearances and three goals to his name. Migjen then went on to sign for Frosinone in 2009. On August 21, 2009 Basha marked his debut with a classy finish against Salernitana. The Swiss-born midfielder helped his team progress to the 4th round of the Coppa Italia. In June 2010 Migjen left Frosinone, having notched 5 goals in 50 starts. He moved to the then Serie B side Atalanta. His debut came against Vicenza on August 21, 2010.
During the 2011/2012 season Basha played on loan at Torino who later secured a permanent transfer of the player.
The influential midfielder claimed international honours, representing Switzerland at U-17, 19 and 21 levels. Though eligible to play for Switzerland and Albania, Basha opted to represent the birthplace of his parents.
