Miguel Flaño Bezunartea is a Spanish central defender performing for Osasuna.
This is a very talented product of Osasuna’s youth system where he made his first professional appearance. This was a game against Real Betis where the Navarrese side gained a 3-2 victory. During the season he took the field 8 times.
Three years later in June 2007 Miguel managed to score his first goal for Osasuna. ‘Los Rojillos’ faced Real Betis again but this time Flaño’s side gained a comfortable 5-0 victory. Also he took part in three matches of Osasuna’s UEFA Cup campaign where the club reached semifinals.
Starting with the season 2008/09 Flaño became an integral part of Osasuna’s defensive line as well as his twin-brother Javier. The brothers played several seasons side by side but Javier gradually lost his position in the start leaving a place for César Azpilicueta. In the summer of 2009 Javier had to leave the squad although his brother became a key unit of the defense gaining 33 appearances and netting 4 times.
After the end of the season 2008/09 the footballer prolonged his deal with Osasuna signing a 5-year contract. In total he has gained 189 appearances and 9 goals for the Navarrese club since 2004.
