Miguel Torres Gómez is a Spanish right defender playing for Olympiacos. His career as a footballer started at the youth ranks of Real Madrid.
The player performed for Real Madrid C (second reserve team of Real Madrid) since 2005 and after playing 34 matches with one goal throughout the season Miguel’s efforts were rewarded as he earned promotion to the Real Madrid B team. The following season was spent in balance between Real Madrid reserves and main squad. He spent 19 games for the ‘Blancos’ eventually being noticed by Fabio Capello who supplied the player with a place in the first team.
His first match for the main squad of Real came on January 14, 2007. That was a won 1-0 game against Zaragoza and this very game gave a head start for the player’s career. Miguel managed to play at his best in that game and was entrusted to a main squad position more and more frequently and found himself involved in 18 games for the first team till the end of the season during which he provided the partners with two assists. That same season the footballer marked his first appearance in the Champions League. Also in that season he won La Liga together with his club.
Torres left Real Madrid for Getafe on August 31, 2009. He signed a 5-year agreement with an option for Real Madrid to buy the player back within two years. The option wasn’t activated and Miguel spent four decent seasons for the side being a constant first choice. In total he gained 102 La Liga appearances with one goal through three years for the side from the outskirts of Madrid.
In August 2013 Torres switched for Greece champions Olympiacos.
