A Portuguese footballer Miguel Ângelo Leonardo Vítor plays for PAOK Saloniki as a central defender. He was born on 30 June 1989 in Torres Vedras.
Miguel was the product of the youth system of Benfica. He studied football at its academy for seven years. During that time he proved to be one of the best trainees and got promotion to the first team. His first pro contract was signed in 2007. In his debut season he got a few chances to perform as a starter, but he turned to be still not ready for the senior game.
In 2008, the club’s management decided to send him on loan in order to gain all the necessary playing experience. So his next season would find him serving a loan to Aves. The team’s head coach let the defender 7 times on the field.
After returning to his parent club Miguel continued to make occasional appearances. In the summer 2010, he moved to England on a season-long loan at Leicester City. The 2010/2011 season was lined with 15 appearances. In the summer 2011, the defender was welcomed back to the Portuguese club.
In the summer 2013 Miguel joined a Greek side PAOK Saloniki.
Miguel has a rich experience in performing at the international level. He used to perform for the Portugal national team at U-19 and U-21 levels. In total, he scored five goals in 25 matches.
