Mikhail Smirnov is a Russian defender, who was born on 3 June 1990.
Smirnov started his football career with FC Zenit St. Petersburg. When he was playing for the youth team of the club, he was seriously considered to become a part of the Russia youth national team.
In 2010 the player moved to Perm, where he joined the reserve team of FC Amkar. The footballer made his first team debut some time later in August 2011 during the Round 21 fixture against FC Rubin. In November 2011 he prolonged his contract with the club up to 2015.
In 2013 he was loaned to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.
During the 2011/12 season Mikhail got a shoulder joint injury during the Round 34 match versus FC Spartak Nalchik and was sidelined for the rest of the season due to it.
