Milan Petržela, a Czech footballer, was born on 19 June 1983 in Prague.
He began his youth career at TJ Hoštice-Heroltice in 1988. Later he moved first to FC Petra Drnovice (1993-1995), then to SK Rostex Vyškov (1995-1996), Zeman Brno (1996-1999) and FK Drnovice (1999-2001). At Drnovice he began his professional career playing, however, only five matches during a two-year senior stint at the club.
Between 2003 and 2006, Petržela played for 1. FC Slovácko, where he appeared in 70 matches, netting three goals. But the midfielder’s results did not impress the coaching staff, and as a result, Milan was sent to FK Jablonec for a season-long loan, where he made 24 appearances and one goal.
In 2007, the footballer moved to AC Sparta Prague but failed to cement his position in the first team and was ransferred to FC Viktoria Plzeň. He enjoyed much better fortune there as he played in 115 games and scored 21 goals for the club. Such decent performances attracted the attention of German side Augsburg. The contract was signed till June 2015. However, in the summer 2013 the Czech signed for Viktoria Plzen.
The player played six games for the Czech Republic U-20 national team, and then in 2004 was called up to the U-21 team. He performed in the starting lineup, appearing on the field in 14 games. Milan has not been called up to the senior national team.
