Milan Stepanov is a Serbian centre back. He was born on 2 April 1983. Milan is a product of Vojvodina’s youth academy. In 2000 the footballer started his senior career with this club.
During several years Stepanov earned a reputation as a tenacious and smart defender. In the 2006/2007 season he netted once in 37 games for Turkish club Trabzonspor.
In July 2007 Stepanov moved to Porto for a fee of €3.5 million. This transfer was unsuccessful for the Portuguese side because Milan was responsible for the team’s major defeat by Liverpool in the Champions League. He didn’t manage to secure a place in the first team of the Dragons and was loaned to Málaga. The defender’s career in Spain wasn’t a success either because during the major part of the season Stepanov didn’t leave the bench. All in all, he made only 12 appearances for Málaga. Milan finally returned to Turkey where he joined Bursaspor. In 2012 he moved to Mersin İdmanyurdu which plays in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Since 2006 Milan Stepanov has gained 6 caps for the Serbia national football team. He took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics together with the national team.
