Milano Koenders is a defender of Heracles Almelo. He was born on 31 July 1986 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Milano’s youth career took off in SDZ, where the footballer performed till 1996.
At the beginning of 1996, Amsterdam side Ajax invited the young defender to train in the academy of the club. Koenders played for various youth squads and expected an offer to pen a professional contract.
However, Milano did not manage to seal a senior deal with Ajax and decided to transfer to Eredivisie side RKC Waalwijk in 2006. The footballer made 30 appearances for the club during the 2006/2007 season. In 2007, Koenders completed a move to Alkmaar Zaanstreek on a two-year deal. From 2007 till 2009, the defender took part in 21 fixtures for AZ.
In 2009, the management of ‘The Cheese Farmers’ decided to send Milano on loan to NEC Nijmegen, where the footballer netted two goals in 14 matches during his temporary spell.
In 2010, the defender finalized a six-month loan move to Rotterdam side Sparta and fired one goal in 13 games for the temporary team.
In the summer 2010, Koenders put pen to paper of a season-long loan contract with NAC Breda, which was later extended for another year. The footballer made 24 appearances for the club during two seasons.
In the summer 2012, Heracles Almelo secured Milano’s services on permanent basis.
From 2005 till 2006, the defender was capped two times for the Netherlands national U-20 team. From 2006 till 2007, Koenders took part in three international fixtures for the U-21 squad.
