Mitar Novaković is a Montenegrin midfielder, who was born on 27 September 1981.
Novakovic got his primary football education in FC Zvezdara, which he joined in 1999. In 2001 the footballer played for FC Borča, but switched teams the same year moving to FC Čukarički Stankom. In 2003-2005 the midfielder represented FC Železnik.
During the 2005/2006 season Mitar played in the shirt of FC Rad Belgrade. The next season he joined FCOFK Belgrade, where he stayed till 2008.
In 2008 Novaković joined FC Amkar Perm and reunited with his former teammates Radomir Dalovic and Nikola Mijailovic, with whom he played for Serbia and Montenegro national football teams.
Mitar made his Russian Premier League debut in 2010 during the Matchday 30 fixture against FC Spartak Nalchik. In January 2014 Novakovic moved to a Kazakhstan side Tobol but severakl weeks later returned to Serbia and joined OFK Beograd.
