Mody Traoré plays as a defender for Valenciennes FC. He was born on 14 July 1980 in Metz, France.
A French defender began his youth career playing for AS Nancy and throughout several years he was a successful player of the youth team squad.
In 2000 Mody went through a tryout at Valenciennes FC which offered him to sign a professional contract. He accepted the offer and agreed to a lasting contract according to which he currently plays for the club.
Until 2010 Traoré performed the role of one of the key players of the defensive line. At the beginning of his career he periodically appeared in the starting lineup and with time as he was becoming more experienced the head coach gave him more playing time. However, by the year 2010 the player lost his good shape and in January of the same year Mody was given out on loan to French club AC Ajaccio for which he appeared in 13 matches scoring 1 goal.
When a loan spell at Ajaccio came to an end the defender continued his career at Division 2 club Le Havre AC. During the 2010/11 season he featured in 27 matches for that club.
At present a French footballer is playing for Valenciennes FC and periodically appears in the starting lineup. He has scored 4 goals in over 180 matches so far.
