Mohamed Fofana was born on 7 March 1985 in Gonesse, France. He is a defender of Stade de Reims from Ligue 1. He was handed the number 2 shirt at the club.
In 2000, he got to the academy of Toulouse, where his youth career took off. During the years he spent in the youth system, Mohamed turned into a full-grown footballer, who could perform at the professional level. In 2004, he graduated from the youth academy and officially became a senior player of his feeder club. But the place in the starting XI wasn’t to be given at once and the defender had to struggle for it. During the following two seasons, Fofana tried his best to get promotion to the main team, but didn’t succeed. Sporadically, he was sent to the reserve squad so as to gain optimal shape. Eventually, in 2006, he strived to join the starting eleven.
Mohamed went on pitch for the first time only few minutes from time, but it was enough for the footballer to show a right spirit. Naturally enough, that episode had brought considerable change to his playing career. He began to take more active part in the fixtures of the club. A promising defender spent 8 years with Toulouse, scoring two goals in 115 games. In 2012, he moved to Stade de Reims which had been promoted to the first division not long ago.
In 2011, Fofana made his debut for the Mali national squad. In total, he made 5 appearances for the team. Despite the fact, that he holds 3 citizenships, he hasn’t been invited to any other team yet.
