Mohammed Abdellaoue, nicknamed as ‘Moa’, was born on 23 October 1985 in Oslo, Norway. His family originates from Morocco, but in 1985 on Mohammed’s grandfather initiative the family moved to the Norwegian capital. His younger brother Mostafa plays for FC Copenhagen and his cousin Omar plays for reserves at Manchester City FC.
After a fine start at Hasle-Løren IL, Mohammed joined Skeid in 2001. In two years he was promoted to the first team, adding a Moroccan zest to the Norwegian side. He had four phenomenal seasons at Skeid with 40 goals scored in 86 appearances.
In 2008, ‘Moa’ moved to Vålerengens IF but initially was stuck on the bench. However, in a short time he developed his game impressively and soon became a big asset for the club scoring in every other game. Moreover, a crafty footballer played for the UEFA Cup 2007/08, and thanks to his goalscoring ability graced Vålerenga as Norwegian Cup 2008 champions.
In 2010, Abdellaoue moved to Germany and signed a four-year contract with Hannover 96. Already in a week he struck his maiden goal for the German side and scored regularly from then onwards. Overall, for two seasons at Hannover 96 a skilful forward scored 29 goals in 80 games, amassing 3 hat-tricks.
Since 2013 Mohammed has been featuring for Stuttgart.
Mohammed Abdellaoue made his international U-18 debut in 2003, coming up through the U-19 and U-21 ranks after that, and finally performing in the Norway national team. For the last one, he powered in 6 goals in 25 games.
