Mohammed Rabiu Alhassan plays as a defensive midfielder for Kuban Krasnodar. The player was born on 31 December 1989 in Accra, Ghana.
His youth career started from the local club Liberty. A Ghanaian footballer studied at the club’s academy and played in the youth team squad.
In 2008 Mohammed signed a professional contract with his local club that was the first one in his career. He was glad to the opportunity of playing in professional football. That meant to become known not only to African clubs but abroad as well.
After signing the contract Rabiu was given out on loan to Gimnàstic from the Segunda División. A young player appeared only in 2 matches for the club.
In 2008 Alhassan continued his performance at Xerez CD that also played in the Segunda División. For that club he featured only in 1 game.
The 2009/10 season the midfielder spent at Italian UC Sampdoria for which he did not show up in a single match.
In 2010 Mohammed’s loan spell ultimately came to an end. He joined Italian club Udinese from Serie A. However the club’s management had their own point of view on the player’s future. They made a decision to loan Rabiu to Évian playing in Ligue 2. During the first season he participated in 10 matches and at the end of the season the club broke through to Ligue 1. The midfielder’s playing style suited the club’s taste and the management resolved to buy out a Ghanaian footballer. He joined the club on a five-year contract and appeared in 53 matches during two years.
In August 2013 Rabiu switched for Kuban Krasnodar.
In 2009 Alhassan was capped to the Ghana national U-20 football team.
