Morgan Schneiderlin is a midfielder of Southampton. He was born on 8 November 1989 in Zellwiller, France.
In 1995 Morgan was invited to the academy of Strasbourg, where he learned football in all its minutest details. During ten years in the youth system, Schneiderlin managed to play for almost all youth teams and took part in junior championship, where he gained playing practice. By 2005 the footballer was ready to perform professionally and waited for an opportunity to rise to that level.
In 2005 Morgan officially became a senior player of Strasbourg. However, the midfielder was sent to the reserve team for three years as he needed more time to gain optimal shape. Schneiderlin made 37 appearances and netted five goals for the reserve squad till 2007, when he made his début for the main team of the club.
In 2008 the footballer got an opportunity to make a full-scale start at the professional level, when Southampton lodged a bid for the French defensive midfielder. The parties agreed in short term so that Morgan could take part in a pre-season training of the new club. Schneiderlin spent the 2008/2009 season with ‘The Saints’ and featured in 30 games. The following seasons were also very rich for opportunities to come on the pitch and the footballer fired three goals in 137 games of the club during four years.
From 2004 till 2011, Morgan was capped 31 times and contributed four goals for the France national U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 squads.
