Nacer Chadli is a winger of Tottenham Hotspur. He was born on 2 August 1989 in Liège, Belgium.
Nacer’s career took off in local Standard Liège, where he played till he turned 16. Later the footballer moved to Dutch side MVV and made encouraging display for the new team, which drew the attention of AGOVV Apeldoorn.
On 7 September 2007, the player made his professional début in the home 2-6 loss to RKC Waalwijk. Half a year later, on 4 April 2008, the Belgian fired his first goal in the game versus Volendam. At the beginning of 2010, top-flight Dutch and Belgian clubs like ADO Den Haag, Utrecht, Twente, Ajax and Anderlecht took an interest in the winger.
In the summer 2010, Chadli made his choice and penned a contract with Twente till the summer 2014. Nacer continues to perform for the club up till now and wears number 22 shirt. The footballer’s début for the team came on 6 August 2010 in the away goalless draw with Roda. Several months later, on 30 October the same year, the player scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over PSV. From 2010 till 2013, Chadli made 84 appearances and amassed 25 goals. In July 2013 the Belgian signed a new contract with the English side Tottenham Hotspur.
The footballer had an opportunity to choose between Morocco and Belgium national teams, because he has a dual citizenship. On 28 January 2011, Nacer announced he would represent Belgium at the international level. The winger’s first call-up to the national squad came on 9 February 2011 for the 1-1 draw with Finland.
