Nathaniel Clyne is a defender of Southampton. He was born on 5 April 1991 in a London suburb, England.
Nathaniel’s last stage of the preparation for a professional start was completed in the academy of Crystal Palace. The footballer managed to impress the coaching staff, which gave him positive feedback at the moment he was going to join the main team of the club.
In 2008 Clyne received an official offer of the Crystal Palace management to become a part of the full squad. After the footballer and the club agreed a contract, Nathaniel moved to the first team, but the head coach had to check him in action at pre-season training before giving the defender an opportunity to make several appearances. Clyne made confident defensive display during his début season and gained confidence of the manager.
The following season Nathaniel took part in many fixtures of the club and became a real candidate for becoming a regular. The defender made 123 appearances and netted one goal during four years in Crystal Palace.
In the summer 2012, the footballer moved to Southampton on a four-year deal.
From 2009 till 2011, Clyne was capped 11 times for the England national U-19 and U-21 teams.
