Nélson Miguel Castro Oliveira is a striker of SL Benfica. A Portuguese footballer was born in 1991 in Barcelos, Portugal.
During his youth career Oliveira played for Santa Maria, Sporting de Braga and the last club he played for until starting his senior career was Benfica. That team he joined at the beginning of his professional career but immediately was loaned to Rio Ave FC, where he made his Primera Liga debut in January 2010.
In August 2010, he joined F.C. Paços de Ferreira on loan. Oliveira scored his first goal for his new team in a 1–1 draw against CS Marítimo that was his debut match, and led them from behind, netting the winning goal in the match against Naval.
Nélson Oliveira returned to SL Benfica and made an official debut for the club in a 2–0 win against Portimonense SC. In March 2012, Oliveira made his UEFA Champions League debut, when he played ten minutes and netted the winning goal in the match against FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, which ended 2–0 victory.
In July 2012 Oliveira signed with Deportivo de La Coruña on a season-long loan and helped his new team with a goal in a 2-0 La Liga opener against CA Osasuna. During the season 2013/2014 Oliveira played for Rennes.
Nélson Oliveira was called up for Portugal at U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels. Since 2012 he has featured for the senior national team.
