Nicolai Müller (Nico) was born on 25 September 1987 in Lohr am Main, Germany.
In his early career the player performed for TSV Wernfeld (till 1998), Eintracht Frankfurt (1998-2003) and SpVgg Greuther Fürth (2003-2006). His debut took place on 2 March 2007 in the match against FC Augsburg. It was a 2-1 victory. During the following two years Nicolai played in the reserve team, making 66 appearances and amassing fifteen goals. After the first round of the 2008/2009 season Müller was again one of the reserves, thereafter he was sent out on loan to SV Sandhausen, for which he performed in 18 matches netting 5 goals, getting into the first squad. In the 2009/2010 season Müller came back to SpVgg Greuther Fürth, being the key player of the first team squad. He made 69 appearances scoring 13 goals for the club. Nevertheless, soon the player had to leave the team. In the 2011/2012 Müller undersigned the contract with Mainz 05 until 2015.
Nicolai made his Bundesliga debut in the match against Hannover 96. The footballer was in the starting line-up during the game against the champion Borussia Dortmund. In total, in the reserve team Müller played in 23 matches and put it down under the net 4 times, but nevertheless, the player didn’t get into the first team squad, where he played only once. At the national level Nicolai Müller didn’t perform.
