Nicolas Maurice-Belay is a midfielder at Bordeaux. He was born on 19 April 1985 in a French commune Sucy-en-Brie.
The youth career of Nicolas began in 2001 at Monaco football academy. During four years Nicolas was featuring for the youth team and at the same time he was attending the academy.
By 2005 Nicolas finished his youth career. The professional career began instead. Monaco signed the footballer to the first professional two-year contract in his life, up to 2007. Nicolas was accepted in the team but he was not trusted a position in the first squad later to become however the team’s core player. The footballer featured for the club during one year.
In 2006 the footballer was released on loan to Sedan where he was playing during one season in the first team operating as a core player. In the 2006/07 season Nicolas played 30 matches for Sedan.
In 2007 the player was noticed by Sochaux. The same year the club signed Nicolas to a professional four-year contract. Playing for the new club Nicolas got an opportunity to appear in the starting lineup. Quite often he took the field as a substitute when it was required, thus helping the head coach. Nicolas played 84 matches, scoring one goal over four years.
In 2011 Bordeaux acquired the promising midfielder for free as he was a free agent. Nicolas is periodically participating in the club’s matches, featuring as an important substitute.
