Nii Nortey Ashong. Biography

Nii Nortey Ashong is a defender of Fiorentina football club. He was born on 17 November 1994 in Accra, Ghana.

Ashong gave a start to his career in Ghana playing for some local youth clubs. In the middle of 2000’s he was scouted by the Italian club Triestina which persuaded Nii to enter their academy. He had been training there for 3 years and greatly developed his defender skills.

In 2011 Triestina and Fiorentina agreed on Ashong’s temporary transfer to Gigliati where he was to gain enough experience and improve his back skills playing for the youth team.

In 2013 the Ghanaian was loaned out to Serie B side Spezia.
