Niki Zimling is a Danish midfielder for German side Mainz 05 who was born on 19 April 1985 in Tårnby, Denmark.
Zimling began his football career when four years old. Before receiving an offer to move to Brøndby IF in 2003, he had trained at various youth academies. In April 2003 Niki stopped playing at youth level and got to the club’s first squad. For two seasons he netted 1 goal in 17 games for the club.
In 2005 Zimling transferred to Esbjerg fB on a 4-year spell. Being a free agent, the midfielder later joined Serie A team Udinese Calcio.
In May 2011 Niki was purchased by Club Brugge in a transfer deal worth €500,000. Together with the club the midfielder became runner-up in the 2011/12 Jupiler Pro League. In 2013 the Dane penned a new deal with Mainz 05. Niki Zimling lifted the Danish League Cup 2005 and was named Danish U-21 Talent of the Year 2006.
