Nikolai Zabolotny is a goalkeeper, born on 16 April 1990 in St. Petersburg.
Nikolai started his youth career at a local football club Smena. Soon Nikolai went to the academy of FC Zenit and then moved to Moscow. In 2007, the footballer returned to FC Zenit, where he played for the youth team from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Nikolai attracted the attention of FC Spartak Moscow scouts, who in their turn convinced quickly the young goalkeeper to move to Spartak academy.
In 2011, Spartak proposed Nikolai to sign a contract, which was the first in his life. He accepted the offer without hesitation, undersigning a professional contract the same year and becoming the main goalkeeper of the club.
Nikolai Zabolotny performs for the Russian youth team.
From 2012 to 2013 the goalkeeper played for FC Rostov. At the beginning of 2014 the goalkeeper moved to Ural.
