Nikolay Marinov. Biography

Nikolay Marinov is a Bulgarian defender, born on 13 August 1986. He usually performs as a center back, but sometimes takes the position of a left back or midfielder. Nikolay was fostered in the CSKA Sofia academy. After failing to break through to the senior team, Marinov sealed his 1st professional contract with another club Sliven 2000.

Having failed to get into the starting 11 of Sliven 2000, he went abroad and played for AEZ Zakakiou and CD Toledo. In 2009 Nikolay returned to Bulgaria and penned a contract with Beroe Stara Zagora, but didn’t manage to impress the club’s management.

After several short-term spells at second division clubs, the back agreed to the contract with Botev Vratsa. After one season with the club Marinov was released.
