Nikolay Pavlov is a Bulgarian midfielder of Botev Plovdiv. He was born on 12 November 1987 in Plovdiv.
Pavlov launched his career with the hometown club Spartak Plovdiv. His bright displays attracted the attention of Lokomotiv Sofia scouts. In June 2007, together with Rumen Tinkov and Ivaylo Dimitrov, Nikolay signed for the club for a fee of 50 thousand euro.
In August 2008, after a UEFA Cup qualification match versus Borac Cacak, the midfielder was tested positive for testosterone. Though Pavlov was a substitute and didn’t play in the match, he was suspended from all official UEFA tournaments for two years.
In June 2011, it became known that he signed for second division side Lyubimetz 2007. Nikolay spent fruitful one and a half seasons at the club, hitting the net on 20 occasions throughout just 36 matches. He was named the league’s best goalscorer with 13 goals at the end of the 2011/12 season.
On 5 January 2013, Nikolay Pavlov sealed a 3-year contract with Botev Plovdiv.
