Nikolaos Karabelas (or Nikos Karabelas) plays for a Spanish La Liga outfit Levante UD. He was born in 1984 in Pyrgos, Greece and began his professional playing career in his local team Paniliakos and spent here two seasons before he joined Aris in 2006. Nikos became one of the key defenders but because of the threats from fans, after he had missed a penalty against PAOKF.C. in the Greek Cup semi-finals. He signed a three-year deal with AEK Athens and during this spell he featured in 70 matches. AEK’s manager considered Karabelas a talented footballer. In the summer of 2012 Nikos signed a two-year deal with Levante UD.
The Greek player was called up for the Greece U-21 national team three times.
