A Brazilian footballer Nilmar Honorato da Silva was born on 14 July 1984 in Bandeirantes.
Honorato started his junior career at the youth department of Internacional in 1999. In 2002, the striker joined the club’s senior side. He stayed with the squad until 2004, netting 16 goals in 42 matches. Such a success was immediately noticed by several European clubs. Among them was the French club Lyon, where the next season of the player’s career would pass. Nilmar racked up two goals in 32 games. In 2005, the player was bought out by Corinthians. Very soon he became one of the squad’s best players. In 2006, Homorato was honored with the title of São Paulo State League Top Goal scorer. Soon, the club faced up with some financial problems and Nilmar opted to rejoin the former club – Internacional. He debuted for the main team on 4 November 2007 in a match against Vasco da Gama. In 2008, the striker won the title of Copa Sudamericana Top Goal scorer, after his club became the champion of the 2009 Copa Sudamericana.
In 2009, a deal was finalized with Villarreal. The spell was lined with 26 goals amassed in 85 club’s fixtures. Even though Nilmar was the team’s anchor footballer and he got enough playing time, he opted to join Al Rayyan in 2012.
In January 2014 Nilmar switched for El Jaish.
On international level, Nilmar represented the Brazil U-23 squad in 2004. He made seven appearances for the team. From 2003 to 2011, the striker played for the Brazil full side. In 2009, his team won the FIFA Confederations Cup.
