Nuno Coelho is a Portuguese footballer born on 23 November 1987 in Covilhã. He currently plays as a midfielder for Arouca in Superleague Greece.
Nuno started out his football grooming at a hometown side Covilhã in 2003. In 2004, he was promoted to the first team of the club and in a year he moved to the powerhouse Porto. In the 2005/06 season, Coelho played exclusively for their reserve squad amassing 30 solid appearances. In 2006, he joined Porto’s first team but the club’s management sent the player on loan initially to União Leiria and then to Portimonense. At the latter, Coelho made a total of 67 second-division appearances for two seasons.
In 2009, the player signed for the top-flight club Académica de Coimbra. After two prominent seasons with the students, Coelho joined Benfica but spent his debut season on loan at Beira-Mar amassing 23 appearances for the temporary club in the 2011/12 campaign. He moved to the Greek side Aris on loan from Benfica ahead of the 2012/13 season. At the end of the spell Coelho signed a deal with Arouca, recently promoted to the top-flight of Portugal.
In 2007, Nuno Coelho earned 4 caps to the Portugal U20 team and since 2007 to 2009 he featured in 4 international matches for the Portugal U21 squad.
