Nuno Coelho is a defender of Braga. He was born on 7 January 1986 in Penafiel, Portugal.
In 2005 Coelho began his professional career when he signed a contract with Porto, where he had been trained from 2004 to 2005 at the youth academy. In 2005 he started playing for the reserve side scoring 1 goal in 10 matches for half a year.
In January 2006, the footballer was loaned to Maia where he took part in 14 matches for half a year. In the summer 2006, Coelho was loaned to Standard Liège where he appeared in the starting eleven 10 times in the 2006/2007 season. In the next season the defender moved to Portimonense where he featured in 15 games. In the summer 2008, Nuno was on loan again, this time at Estrela Amadora, which played in the Portuguese second division. In the 2008/2009 season, he played 28 games for his temporary club kicking 1 goal.
In 2010 the footballer penned a permanent contract with Sporting. During one season Coelho took part only in 9 games failing to become the key player. The fact that Coelho changed many temporary teams also had an impact on his performance; however he became more confident when he was offered to join Braga. In the summer 2011/2012, Nuno signed for Braga where he plays until now. The 2011/2012 season was successful for this club because it qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
In 2005 Nuno Coelho took part in 10 games and netted once for the Portugal U-20 national team. From 2006 to 2008 he was capped 20 times for the Portugal U-21 national football team and scored 4 goals.
