Odaïr Fortes was born on 31 March 1987 in Alfortville, France. He is currently a midfielder of Stade Reims.
Odaïr began his football grooming in 2006, when he joined Alfortville. During a two-year spell at the club he became the champion of the 2008 Coupe de France at amateur level. The season was very fruitful for the footballer and by its end he had many tempting offers from various clubs. He preferred to join the French club Stade de Reims and a contract was signed in 2008. His ball possession and dribbling skills were so impressive, that very soon Angers wished to buy out the Frenchman’s contract. But Fortes didn’t alter his decision and stayed with Reims. During his first season he made 24 appearances.
The 2009/2010 season appeared to be even more fortunate: he scored 2 goals in first 7 games. In 2010, his club became vice-champion of the second division.
On 16 November 2010 Fortes was capped for the Cape Verde national team. That was a friendly 2-1 win over Guinea-Bissau. The Frenchman spent 69 minutes on the field. On 25 March 2011, he netted his debut goal for the national squad against Liberia. That time his team won by four points to two.
