Olberdam de Oliveira Serra, simply Olberdam, was born on 6 February 1985 in João Pessoa, Brazil.
The footballer started his youth career at the academy of the Brazilian side Mogi Mirim in 1999. In 2002 Olberdam penned his first professional contract with the Brazilian club Corinthians. For three years he played with the U-19 team of Corinthians. In 2005 Olberdam moved to Marítimo. In 2010 the footballer was loaned to Braga. However he made only 3 appearances for this Portuguese outfit. After that he was again on loan, this time to the Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense, where he took part in 10 matches. In 2011 the footballer was sent on loan to the Romanian club Rapid Bucureşti. During one season he featured in 12 matches. At the expiration of his loan contract Olberdam returned to Marítimo. Overall, he played more than 100 games for Marítimo scoring 7 goals. In the summer 2013 Olberdam was released from the club.
