Oleg Samsonov is a midfielder, currently playing for FC Krasnodar. He was born on 7 September 1987 in Novovoronezh, Russia.
Oleg’s first club was local Atom Novovoronezh. At the age of 11, due to his outstanding performance, Samsonov was invited to the youth academy of FC Fakel Voronezh. Four years later he moved to the football academy of Second Division side FC Sportakademklub Moscow. Samsonov made 32 appearances and scored 1 goal for the Moscow club. In 2006 Oleg Samsonov transferred to Zenit St. Petersburg. In 2007 Zenit loaned Samsonov to Spartak Nalchik, where he featured in 48 matches and netted 3 goals. In 2009 Oleg was loaned to FC Khimki from Moscow, but practically immediately was again loaned to Spartak.
In 2010 Samsonov penned a 3-year deal with Krylia Sovetov Samara, where Oleg played 36 matches, scored three goals, but failed to fulfill the terms of the contract, and in the summer of 2011 was sold to FC Krasnodar. The contract with the new club was also concluded for three years.
Oleg Samsonov is a promising player, who has the experience of representing Russia U-21 and Russia-2 at international events.
