A Ukrainian footballer Oleksandr Hladkiy plays for Karpaty Lviv (on loan from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk) as a forward. He was born on 24 August 1987 in Lozova.
Oleksandr started his professional career in 2003 at Metalist Kharkiv, where he played during 2 years. His debut season was marked with 4 goals scored in 17 matches. After such a start the footballer was soon noticed by other clubs. That’s why in 2005, the forward joined Kharkiv.
In the summer 2005, Hladkiy joined the new team and performed for it during the following two years, making 64 appearances and netting 18 goals.
In 2007, the footballer penned a new contract with Shakhtar Donetsk, which offered him attempting contract. The forward was included in the first eleven and became the squad’s pivot. In total, Oleksandr appeared 82 times as the team’s starter and scored 27 goals.
In the summer 2010, a deal was completed with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. The move to a new club didn’t bring much playing time to the footballer. He’d featured in 23 matches before he was loaned to Karpaty Lviv in 2012, where he continues to play.
In the period from 2004 till 2009, Hladkiy represented the Ukraine U-21 team. In total, he made 15 appearances and netted 5 goals for the youth team. In 2007, the forward got his first cap for the Ukraine national squad.
