Oleksandr Maksymov is a Ukrainian professional midfielder currently playing for Metalurh Zaporizhya. He was born on February 13, 1985 in Zaporizhia, Ukrainian SSR.
From 1998 till 2001 Oleksandr Maksymov attended the football academies of Borisfen Borispil and Dynamo Kyiv. In 2001 he joined the senior squad of Borisfen Borispil and stayed there for one year. From 2002 till 2004 the footballer played for Dynamo-2 Kyiv FC and Dynamo-3 Kyiv FC.
In 2004, Oleksandr Maksymov was transferred to Metalist Kharkiv and a year later, having taken part in 9 matches for the club, was loaned to Arsenal Kyiv FC for half of the season. From 2005 till 2007 the midfielder played on loan for Kharkiv FC where he made 39 appearances and netted 1 goal.
In 2007, Oleksandr Maksymov was bought by Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk FC but appeared in only 3 matches. From 2008 till 2011 the player performed for Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih FC on loan and in 2011 he was loaned to Arsenal Kyiv FC.
In the summer 2013 Maksymov moved to Metalurh Zaporizhya.
