Oscar Wendt is a Swedish footballer, born on 24 October 1985 in Skövde.
Wendt started his career at the local IFK Skövde. In 2003 he joined IFK Göteborg youth team and in a year was included in the first squad. In total he made 36 appearances and scored a goal for the team. In the summer of 2006 the footballer moved to F.C. Copenhagen, where he claimed the Danish Superliga title four times (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011).
After outstanding play during the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League, where Copenhagen qualified for the 1/8 finals, Oscar drew the attention of various clubs. He got a large amount of interest mostly from Scandinavian teams, but eventually joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer. On 10 June 2011 Wendt signed a 3-year contract with the club, tying him to Borussia until 2014. He showed a good play in his debut match against SC Freiburg and became an established part of Borussia’s starting 11. Oscar has played 14 matches for the team so far.
Wendt was capped for the U-21 team and made 14 appearances scoring 1 goal. His senior international debut came on 14 January 2007 in a 0-2 defeat to Venezuela.
