Osmar Mares

Osmar Mares is a Mexican defender. He was born on 8 May 1987 in Torreón, Mexico. Mares started his football career at the academy of his hometown club Santos Laguna.

In 2006 Mares was promoted to the main team of the Warriors for the Clausura, however the footballer made his first team debut only in autumn in a game against Jaguares de Chiapas.

In the summer 2010 Mares was loaned to San Luis for a year. Later on he returned to Santos Laguna with which he won the Liga MX in 2012.

In 2007 Osmar Mares was called up to the Mexico national U-20 team. The young footballer made his debut during the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He netted a key goal in a game against New Zealand.
