A Malian footballer Ousmane Coulibaly plays for Brest.
He made his league debut as a member of Guingamp in the 2008/2009 season. That was the match with Ajaccio. As a starter he appeared in a game against Metz.
In 2009, Ousmane moved to Brest. The contract was penned for a term of two years. In the 2009/2010 season, he managed to make the third appearance in Ligue 2, when his new team was playing against Lavallois. Brest also got the victory under Saint-Etienne in Coupe de France.
The next 2010/2011 season, Coulibaly spent playing for the club. Despite being viewed as a right defender, Ousmane appeared to be the type of complete footballer that could play in any field his coach would need him. On 2 October 2010, in a match with Monaco he performed as a left defender. In a game with Nice he appeared as a central midfielder. Nevertheless, his most common position is the position of right defender. In matches with Marseille, Bordeaux and Auxerre Ousmane was stationed in this very position.
In December 2010, the spell came to an end and the club didn’t extend the contract until the spring. Ousmane was happy to find himself in the number of the club’s players for a term of three seasons. In the 2011/2012 season, his teammate got a serious injury and Coulibaly got a chance to appear on the field as a starter.
His first call for the national team of Mali came in 2011. Together with the squad he made the cut in the 2012 African Cup of Nations and almost got to the semifinal.
