Pablo Barrera is a Mexican midfielder currently playing for Cruz Azul in the Liga MX. He was born on 21 June 1987 in Tlalnepantla, Mexico.
At the age of 11 Pablo joined the youth system of Club Universidad Nacional. In 2005, he made his sparkling first-team debut for Pumas in an 8-0 win against Veracruz. Barrera became a fantastic asset for the club during the 2008/09 season as his strong performances helped them to win the Clausura 2009. Overall, he scored 18 goals in 85 matches during a five-year spell with Pumas. In 2010, Barrera moved to England to join West Ham United in the Premier League. He then played on loan at Spanish Real Zaragoza and in the summer 2012 Barrera returned to his motherland where he signed for the Primera División side Cruz Azul and plays there to date.
Pablo Barrera is capped to the Mexico national team since 2007. He featured for his country in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup matches.
