Argentine defender Pablo Ezequiel Fontanello was born on 25 February 1984 in Lincoln, Argentina.
Pablo spent his youth career playing for Deportivo Español. His professional career took off in 2003 when Fontanello signed his first professional contract with the club. Pablo remained with the club for three years amassing 8 goals in 96 appearances.
In 2006 Fontanello moved to Tigre which is another Argentine club. A year later the player was transferred to Santiago Wanderers in the Chilean league where he was playing on loan for half a year. As Pablo’s loan spell was over he returned to Tigre where he stayed till 2009 having played in total 39 games scoring one goal.
Pablo’s next club became the Italian Parma where the Argentine stayed from 2009 to 2011 spending, however, much time out on loan. At the beginning of 2010 the defender was loaned by Tigre. After half a year that resulted in 19 games and two goals he was loaned by Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata where he played 23 games for the 2010/11 season.
In 2011, Pablo Fontanello moved on loan to FC Chornomorets Odesa from the Ukrainian Premier League. In March 2014 he moved to a Norwegian side Stabaek.
