Panagiotis Kone is an attacking midfielder for Bologna. He was born on 26 July 1987 in Tirana, Albania.
In 1999 Kone entered Olympiacos youth system. In 2004 French RC Lens signed Kone for the B team.
In 2005 Panagiotis Kone signed his first professional contract with Greek AEK Athens. From 2005 to 2008 Panagiotis made 23 appearances and scored 2 goals for AEK.
In 2008 Panagiotis Kone moved to Greek Iraklis. During 2 years at Iraklis Kone made 49 appearances and netted 8 goals. The young midfielder performed brilliantly and attracted a lot of attention from the top European clubs.
In 2010, after a contract dispute between Iraklis and Brescia, the latter bought full rights for the Albanian. During the 2011/12 season at Brescia Kone made 31 appearances and scored 1 goal.
In 2011 Panagiotis Kone was transferred to Bologna on loan and made 31 appearances for the club since then. At present Bologna is interested in signing Kone on a permanent basis. The young and talented Greek is also interesting for many European clubs.
In 2006 Panagiotis Kone was for the first time called up to represent Greece youth and senior squads with a total of 22 caps and 1 goal so far. He was named in the Greek squad for Euro 2012.
