A Peruvian footballer José Paolo Guerrero Gonzales acts as a striker for Corinthians and the Peruvian national squad. Guerrero was born on 1 January 1984 in Lima.
José started his professional career at Bayern Munich in 2002. Before the contract with Bavarian giants was penned, the footballer had spent a year playing for the club’s junior team. He participated in the Regionalliga Süd during the 2003/2004 season. The striker netted 21 goals in 24 matches gaining the title of the Top scorer in the tournament.
In 2006, Guerrero ended his Munich spell with the Hamburger move. At first, he was used as a substitute player only, but by the 2007/2008 season he managed to establish himself in the starting squad and remained the place until the end of the spell. In total, the footballer featured in 134 fixtures netting 37 goals. Whilst playing for the team, José was honored with the title of the Best Peruvian football player in Copa America 2007 and the Top Scorer in Copa America 2011.
In 2012, Paolo signed a contract with Corinthians.
In 2004, the footballer earned his first call for the Peru full side. He’s already made starts in more than 40 matches for the national team.
