Pape Diop. Biography

Papakouli ‘Pape’ Diop is a Senegalese footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Levante.

Diop started off as a member of the French Rennes that played in the first division. He was taking the pitch for the club from 2004 till 2006. His first professional match (Rennes against Lille) coincided with the first day of the whole season. He left the club as the season was done and moved to the team of the second division – Tours. But Pape didn’t manage to consolidate his place in the squad, that’s why, in January 2008, he agreed to serve loan at Gimnàstic, which played in the second division as well. His first game for Catalans was played on 24 February 2008. That was the match against Polideportivo Ejido. The next 4 years from 2009 Diop was destined to play with Racing Santander. In 2012, Pape became a member of a Spanish club Levante.
