Park Ji-Sung is a midfielder of Queens Park Rangers. He was born on 25 February 1981 in Seoul, South Korea.
Park’s professional career took off in 2000, when he penned his first senior contract with J. League Division 2 side Kyoto Purple Sanga. Ji-Sung was the pivot of the team during two years and took part almost in every match of the club. The footballer made 76 appearances and netted 11 goals for his first team.
Park’s stellar performance drew the attention of Dutch side PSV from the other side of the globe. Ji-Sung suited the club perfectly as it always had an attacking style. From 2002 till 2005, the Korean player performed for the new team, but he was not a regular. However, the footballer often made sub appearances and sometimes came on the pitch in the starting eleven.
Ji-Sung’s confident performance gave him an opportunity to continue his development, but in other club and country. In the summer 2005, English side Manchester United offered the player a move, as the management noticed his potential and decided to secure his services. Park used the opportunity to sign for one of the top-flight world squads and sealed a deal worth £4 million without hesitation. The footballer featured in 133 games and amassed 19 goals for the new club during seven years.
In 2012 he tranferred to London to join Queens Park Rangers and immediately bacame the team’s captain due to immense experience. After the club had been relegated from the Premier League, Park was offered a loan spell with his former club PSV Eindhoven.
From 1999 till 2004, Ji-Sung performed for the South Korea national U-23 squad, took part in 23 games and contributed three goals. From 2000 till 2011, the midfielder was capped 100 times and fired 13 goals for the full national squad.
