Patrick Herrmann is a midfielder for Borussia Mönchengladbach, born on 12 February 1991 in Saarbrücken, Germany.
Patrick’s career in football began at FC Uchtelfangen, where he stayed until he turned 13. In 2004 Herrmann joined 1 FC Saarbrücken, before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach youth team in 2008. In a year the footballer made his senior debut with the reserve team. Patrick’s first squad debut came on 16 January 2010, in a Bundesliga game versus VfL Bochum. He appeared as a sub on the 79th minute providing the assist for his teammate Fabian Bäcker. Herrmann netted 10 goals in 64 games and was rewarded with a new contract, tying him to the club until the summer of 2014. He has been praised as one of the brightest Borussia talents.
Herrmann has been capped at all youth levels of the German national team, starting from the U-16 in 2006. He took part in 11 matches of the team. A year later the footballer was invited to the U-17 squad, where he scored two debut goals at international level. Then he showed an outstanding play with 3 goals in 4 appearances for the U-20 team, due to which Patrick was named to the U-21 squad. For two years he has played 6 matches and delivered a goal. In 2012 the player suffered an injury that kept him out of business for some time.
